Job Description
Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices nationwide. We partner with businesses and jobseekers to place qualified individuals efficiently. We are currently in need of Structural Welders to join our team with opportunities in the following states: Ohio, Missouri, Kentucky Illinois, and Louisiana

Pay Rates: $24/hr - $130/day per diem

Position Summary

As a Structural Welder you will play a critical role in constructing and assembling structural components. You must be proficient in 6010, 6011, and 7018 stick welding on 3/8" to 1/2" steel plate. Candidates should have experience in heavy-industrial environments such as fabrication shops, shipyards, or refineries. Strong blueprint reading, safety adherence, and structural assembly skills are required

Responsibilities:
• Weld and tack weld structural metal parts using appropriate welding processes and equipment, including SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and/or plasma systems.
• Heat oxygen/propane heating torch.
• Perform grinding and pick up work as needed.
• Complete air carbon arc gouging.
• Properly use fillet and butt gauges.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of various metals characteristics and qualities including the correct welding processes required and the effects of welding on the material.

Requirements:
• Minimum 4 years of naval/commercial pulse welding experience.
• Proficient in stick welding (SMAW) using 6010, 6011, and 7018 electrodes
• Experience welding 3/8" to 1/2" structural steel plate
• Ability to read and interpret basic weld symbols, blueprints, and shop drawings
• Prior experience with fillet, groove, and lap welds on heavy structural steel preferred
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Familiar with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.
• Pass hair follicle test and background check.
• Comfortable with heights and in confined spaces.
• Lift 50lbs without assistance.
• Must understand the layout of the ship and compartment identification.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Must be a US citizen.
