As part of our growing operations team, we are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping & Packing Clerk to support our shipping department and ensure items are packed and shipped accurately and securely.

Position Overview

The Shipping & Packing Clerk is responsible for professionally packing, weighing, labeling, and shipping items from our office location. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, efficiency, and the ability to handle fragile or valuable items with care. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the importance of accuracy in shipping operations.

Key Responsibilities

Packing & Preparation
β€’ Carefully pack items using appropriate boxes, cushioning materials, and protective wrapping
β€’ Assess items for special handling needs (fragile, high-value, oversized, or irregularly shaped items)
β€’ Ensure packages meet carrier requirements for safe transit

Shipping Operations
β€’ Accurately weigh and measure packages
β€’ Generate and apply shipping labels using company systems
β€’ Coordinate shipments with approved carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.)
β€’ Prepare and process outgoing shipments daily
β€’ Track shipments and confirm delivery when required

Inventory & Documentation
β€’ Maintain organized shipping and packing supply inventory
β€’ Record shipment details accurately in company systems
β€’ Assist with basic inventory control and item verification
β€’ Ensure proper documentation for high-value or specialty shipments

Quality Control
β€’ Inspect items prior to packing for condition and completeness
β€’ Double-check shipping addresses and label accuracy
β€’ Ensure all packages are professionally presented and secure

Team Support
β€’ Work closely with move managers and estate sale teams to prepare sold items for shipment
β€’ Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shipping workspace
β€’ Communicate clearly regarding shipment timelines and potential issues

Qualifications
β€’ Previous experience in shipping, packing, warehouse, or fulfillment roles preferred
β€’ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
β€’ Ability to safely lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs independently
β€’ Comfortable standing and performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift
β€’ Basic computer and technology skills (label printing, tracking systems, email communication)
β€’ Strong time management and ability to meet daily shipping deadlines
β€’ Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
