• Pay Rate: Starting $18 Hourly.

About the Job:

Serve as an Unarmed Security Guard and provide emergency aid, security, and protection of life and property of clients by patrolling a fixed post business.

Officer Responsibilities:
• Patrol assigned property to prevent crime and enforce laws and business policies.
• Prevent, observe, report and act on conditions of crime and danger. Check buildings for security. Observe structures, people and vehicles for suspicious activity. Make arrests as appropriate.
• Provide professional and credible testimony in a court of law.
• Prepare and write a variety of reports and records related to arrests, incidents and daily activity.
• Provide excellence in internal and external customer service. Create a positive experience for customers through professional and courteous behavior and creative problem resolution.
• Develop safe work habits and follow all required safety policies, procedures and techniques. Contribute to safety of self, co-workers and the public.
• Participate in ongoing training.
• Follow standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook and General Orders.
• Produce an acceptable quantity and quantity of work that is completed within established timelines.
• Support and respect diversity in the workplace.
• Any other tasks assigned.

Officer Requirements:
• A high school qualification or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and a United States Citizen.
• Be able to obtain a PERC license within 30 days of employment.
• Possess a valid drivers license and can meet the department’s insurance requirements.
• May never have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor that reflects adversely on the capacity to serve as a security guard.
• Ability to apply criminal justice and crime prevention techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret laws and orders.
• Ability to perform departmentally authorized use of force techniques to affect the physical arrest of criminal suspects.
• Strong ability to maintain composure in adverse conditions.
• Ability to work under stress and remain calm and to calm other people during rapidly changing circumstances.
• Ability to multitask with different, and sometimes conflicting, events happening at the same time.
• Knowledge of computers for scheduling, reporting, and other duties.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with others under any type of condition.
• Work in a 24-hour environment with varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:
• Constant - Seeing, hearing, feeling, standing, walking, and sitting. Occasional - carrying objects over 50 pounds, reaching, stooping, climbing, balancing, bending, twisting, handling paperwork, running, jumping, crawling, kneeling.

Must be able to pass criminal background check, drug screening (including marijuana), psychological evaluation, written and physical test.
