Job Description
Drillmec Inc. is now hiring Structural Fitters & Structural Welders for our Fabrication Department.

We are currently doing DIRECT HIRE ONLY.

Candidates must have 3 years of prior work experience.

Walk Ins Accepted.

Please come Monday - Thursday to 18320 Imperial Valley Drive, Houston, TX 77060 between 8:30am - 2 pm prepared with resume, work boots, safety glasses and work tools to take your test. Be prepared to stay about 1 hour for your test.
• Structural Fitting Tests (if 3 years of experience) - wear long sleeves, steel toe shoes, bring gloves, glasses & hard hat
• Structural Welding Tests (if 3 years of experience) - wear long sleeves, steel toe shoes, gloves, glasses, hard hat & bring welding tools

Flux Core 3G - assesses a welder's skill in
FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding)
on a
groove weld in the vertical-up position
, typically using thick steel plates with bevels, requiring uphill progression and precise control to prevent sagging or lack of fusion, often under AWS codes.
Success means qualifying for structural welding in vertical joints, a key skill for many construction and fabrication roles, with tests involving root, fill, and cap passes. If visual inspection is passed then plate will be sent for X-Ray Inspection.
