Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welders to join our team, specializing in the fabrication of goods for the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

All applicants will be required to go through our welding and fitting assessment using a MIG Welder and .045 wire, at our headquarters located in Dallas, Tx. You will need a welding hood and heavy welding gloves.

Pay Rate: $17.00 - $23.00/HR depending on experience

Essential Functions

A Fitter, positions, aligns and fits parts according to specifications; fabricates heavy steel components by reading shop drawings and bills of material; performing welding operations using a variety of MIG welding equipment; verifies welding results; documents actions; maintains a safe work environment; keeps equipment operating smoothly; accomplishes manufacturing and organization mission.

Job Functions
• Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
• Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications, using squares, and measuring tapes.
• Tack-weld fitted parts together.
• Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to be processed in order to ensure that specifications are met.
• Align and fit parts according to specifications, turnbuckles, wedges, pry bars, and hammers.
• Locate and mark workpiece bending and cutting lines allowing for stock thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and other component specifications.
• Position or tighten braces, clamps, and/or bolt parts in position for welding.
• Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
• Move parts into position, manually or by using forklifts, hoists and/or cranes.
• Design and construct templates and fixtures, using hand tools.
• Assist in straightening warped or bent parts, using sledges and/or hand torches.
• Capable of lifting at least 50+ pounds

Qualifications

2+ years in Steel Fabrication working as Fitter
• Blueprint reading
• Hand tools proficiency
• Fabrication experience
• Basic math skills
• Welding knowledge, including MIG welding
• Familiarity with power tools
• Understanding of crane operation
• Knowledge of calipers and micrometers
