About US

We are a small but quickly growing misc metals fabrication company in the Spring Branch area of Houston, seeking an experienced Full-time welder. We have been in business for over 20 years.

About the Postion and Applying

Applicants must have general fabrication experience/knowledge. Applicant should be able to follow both verbal and blueprint instructions and be able to produce quality fabrication that is square, dimensionally correct, has minimal distortion and showcases sound structural welding without immediate training. Must be proficient in both MIG and Flux Core welding. Interview will require sample welding to show ability, so please come dressed for work and bring your own hood if desired. Compensation for this position is $18 an hour with room for raises over time and with continued experience/growth. (please see position overview section below for a more detailed description of experience required)

We typically work Monday -Thursday 6:00AM to 4:30pm. We do have occasional opportunities for added hours/overtime on Friday or Saturday. Our work is both in the shop and occasionally in the field and could include occasional travel. Looking for someone with a quick pace, safe practices, team spirit, and a positive attitude.

In Depth Welder Position Overview

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of welding techniques and safety protocols, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. As a MIG/Flux Core Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures while ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.

Responsibilities
• Perform MIG welding on various materials, ensuring high-quality welds that meet project specifications. Any Aluminum MIG experience is a plus
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
• Apply fabrication knowledge to ensure all aspects of built products are correct and within given tolerance. Understand how to prevent/minimize distortion and pulling due to heat. Ensure that work product is square, plumb and or level etc. as required in each project assigned.
• Operate assorted power tools and equipment safely, including plasma cutting machines, saws, hand tools, etc.
• Conduct visual inspections of completed welds to insure adherence to codes and standards.
• Collaborate with team members to rig materials for welding processes and assist in the movement of heavy components using forklifts and overhead lifts.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Troubleshoot welding issues as they arise, applying mechanical knowledge to resolve problems efficiently.

Qualifications
• Proven experience in MIG and Flux Core welding; additional experience in any Aluminum welding is a plus and will be taken in consideration.
• Proficient in operating various power tools and equipment related to welding and fabrication processes.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints accurately.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards relevant to welding practices.
• Experience with plasma cutting techniques is desirable.
• Ability to rig materials safely for welding operations.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
