Security guard jobs in Turkey pop up all the time but most people don't know the first thing about them.
What the work actually looks like
From what I've seen it's mostly standing around for hours at malls, construction sites or office buildings. Some shifts are quiet. Others you deal with drunks or arguments. Istanbul has way more options than smaller cities.
Pay depends on experience and the company. Entry level starts low but you get extras like food or transport sometimes. Honestly speaking it won't make you rich but it's stable compared to a lot of other work.
Who can even apply
You need a clean record first. That's non negotiable. Age usually starts from 18 and Turkish citizenship helps a ton. Some places want military service done too.
Training is required by law. It's not super long but you learn basic stuff like first aid and how to handle incidents. Private firms often run their own courses after you get hired.
Where to hunt for openings
Online job sites are the easiest. Check local Facebook groups too because a lot of hiring happens there quietly. Walking into security companies in Ankara or Izmir can work if you're persistent.
Big events and hotels need extra guards during tourist season. That's good for short term money but the hours can be brutal.
Is it worth it though
Depends what you're after. If you want something low pressure with set shifts then yeah. The downside is standing all day and dealing with whatever comes up at 3am.
Lots of guys do it for a few years then move into site management. That's the smart route if you stick around.
