We are seeking a Housekeeper to join our community committed to delivering outstanding cleaning services to our residents. As a Housekeeper, you will play an important role in all phases of cleaning that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:
• Performs all duties in a courteous manner and maintains excellence in customer service including but not limited to cheerfully greeting residents and visitors and exercising respect with co-workers.
• Cleans and services rooms, baths, and offices; dusts furniture and equipment; cleans windows, window sills, light globes; empties trash baskets and removes trash; cleans and polishes bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar items; replenishes supplies of soap and towels; cleans and polishes brass, glass panels, doors, partitions, and paneling; checks and fill all dispensers – hand soap, paper.
• Cleans, mops, and treats floors; strips, waxes, and buffs floors as needed. Vacuums all carpet; shampoos carpet as directed.
• Mixes/dilutes housekeeping chemicals and products according to instructions.
• Move furniture as needed in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
• Makes minor repairs and adjustments; replaces light bulbs; repairs clogged sinks, commodes, or drains.
• Assists dietary unit as needed with set ups, clean up, policing spills during meals, etc.
• Keeps utility storage rooms in good order by cleaning lockers and equipment, arranging supplies, and sweeping and mopping floor. Organizes and maintains linen closets in a safe and orderly condition at all times.
• Reports issues of department equipment when it is not in good working condition in accordance with manufacturer’s operational standards.
• Detects and corrects, or reports, hazardous conditions that have a possibility of causing accidents or injuries to residents, employees, or visitors.

What you’ll bring:
• Requires in-depth understanding of all phases of housekeeping operations; prior related experience preferred.
• Requires basic knowledge of house cleaning devices, such as brooms, mops, etc., cleaning agents, and sanitation/cleaning requirements.
• Preferred ability to read, write and understand business documents which are written in English.
• Requires ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers. Requires ability to make self clearly understood by others.
• Requires ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.
• Requires ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility on a daily basis.
• Work deals mostly with objects, equipment, and/or machines at or within arm’s reach. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance.
• Requires ability to maintain confidentiality.
