Position Overview

An experienced, detail-oriented, and discreet Housekeeper is sought to oversee the care and cleanliness of a large, formal townhome on the Upper East Side (7 – floors) . This is a full-time position working for a private family of four, including two adults and two young children (no pets).

The Housekeeper will work closely with the nanny and the weekend housekeeper/laundress to ensure the home is maintained to the highest standard. The ideal candidate is highly organized, professional, and accustomed to working in a formal household setting.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the daily cleaning, organization, and upkeep of a multi-level formal townhome
• Ensure housekeeping tasks are completed to museum-quality standards
• Perform hands-on cleaning as needed, including fine surfaces and delicate materials
• Manage household cleaning supplies and inventory
• Assist with light family cooking as needed (simple family meals)
• Maintain a high level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism
• Coordinate with household staff to ensure seamless daily operations
• Travel to the Hamptons on occasion during the summer months (flexibility required)

Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-end private household
• Prior supervisory or head housekeeper experience preferred
• Experience working in a formal home with high standards of service
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Team player with a hands-on, proactive approach
• Ability to prepare light meals when needed
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Excellent references from prior employers
