A day in the life

The Security - Loading Dock Officer is responsible for overseeing the secure and efficient operation of loading docks at designated client locations. This position plays a critical role in managing deliveries, monitoring inbound and outbound traffic, and ensuring compliance with security protocols and facility procedures specific to each site.
β€’ Maintain a professional demeanor while assisting vendors, employees, tenants, and visitors.
β€’ Monitor and control access to client loading docks and adjacent areas, ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted entry.
β€’ Greet and verify delivery personnel, vendors, and contractors entering the loading dock area.
β€’ Maintain a visible presence and patrol assigned dock zones to deter theft, vandalism, or unauthorized activity.
β€’ Answer incoming calls and manage communication related to dock operations.
β€’ Enforce building and loading dock policies and procedures within established guidelines.
β€’ Inspect outgoing deliveries to ensure authorized removal of property.
β€’ Monitor security systems and alarms related to dock areas.
β€’ Prepare incident and activity reports as required.
β€’ Follow established emergency protocols and support evacuation procedures if needed.
β€’ High School Diploma or equivalent required.
β€’ Valid state-mandated security officer license or ability to obtain one.
β€’ Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in security, preferably with logistics or dock-related responsibilities.
β€’ Reliable transportation and effective communication skills.
β€’ Professional appearance and customer service mindset.
β€’ Ability to write routine reports and complete logs accurately.
β€’ Familiarity with security systems, access control devices, and safety protocols.
