Precision Design, a leading MEP Engineering firm in Brooklyn, NY, is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer / MEP Designer with strong experience in Plumbing, Fire Protection

We are looking for a highly skilled professional who can independently design systems, coordinate across multiple disciplines, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must have at least 5 years of industry experience, including a minimum of 3 years designing in NYC, and must be fully knowledgeable of NYC Building and Energy Codes.

πŸ’Ό Responsibilities
β€’ Design Plumbing & Fire Protection systems from concept through full construction documents
β€’ Prepare calculations for water, gas, sanitary/sewer, and storm loads
β€’ Perform field surveys and assess existing building conditions
β€’ Produce drawings, specifications, and all phases of design (schematic β†’ construction administration)
β€’ Coordinate with architectural, engineering, and external project teams, including contractors and city agencies
β€’ Manage multiple projects simultaneously
β€’ Review shop drawings and participate in project meetings

πŸ“˜ Required Skills & Experience
β€’ 5+ years of related experience in Plumbing and/or Fire Protection design
β€’ At least 3 years of NYC-specific design experience
β€’ Strong knowledge of NYC Building Codes, NYC Energy Conservation Code, and NYC filing requirements
β€’ Experience with utility company filing procedures
β€’ Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit is a plus)
β€’ Familiarity with NFPA-13, NFPA-13R, and hydraulic calculations
β€’ Experience with DEP cross-connection and site connection submissions is strongly preferred
β€’ Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
β€’ Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
