Job Description
• Set up and operate arc welding equipment
• Fabricate and repair metal components
• Read and interpret technical drawings
• Maintain and clean welding equipment
• Cutting and positioning materials needed for welding projects, using a torch or other tools
• Inspecting welds for quality and defects, using tools such as microscopes
• Inspecting equipment for damage or defects, replacing parts as needed to maintain efficiency
• Reading and interpreting codes, symbols, and schematics to determine proper setup and procedures
• Installing and repairing welding equipment, such as torches and wire feeders, to ensure proper operation
• Operating welding equipment to weld or cut metal components or materials
