Job Description

Working on assigned shifts, you will provide proactive and reactive security patrols and respond to incidents. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.

This site is a Government of Ontario Building.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Deliver exceptional customer service and proactively enhance the overall experience for tenants, guests, and visitors
• Enforce property standards, rules, regulations, and access control procedures with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
• Conduct highly visible foot patrols, engage positively with the public, and maintain awareness of property activities and special events
• Maintain safety and security by monitoring CCTV, responding to incidents, de-escalating crises, and addressing trespassing or unauthorized access
• Respond to medical and emergency situations, providing first aid, CPR, or AED support until emergency services arrive
• Assist emergency services and law enforcement, including participation in fire and life safety inspections
• Investigate incidents and occurrences, maintain detailed logs and memo books, and prepare accurate incident and occurrence reports
• Support daily operations and line management activities as required

Qualifications
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol by foot or vehicle for extended periods (8–12 hours)
• Minimum of 2 years of prior security experience; physical and/or office security experience is an asset
• Strong professionalism, attention to detail, observational awareness, and decision-making under pressure
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with full fluency in English
• Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to work effectively in a team
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, indoor and outdoor, high-traffic environments
• Ability to manage stress, handle conflict, and maintain composure in emergency situations

Prerequisites
• Legally Authorized to work in Canada
• 2 Years of Security Experience is a must
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Lvl C
• Proof of Covid Vaccine - 2 Doses
