Job Description
Job Overview

We are hiring professional and reliable Security Guards for a large-scale event during the Calgary Stampede.

This is a 10-day contract position requiring full availability for all scheduled shifts.

Candidates must be comfortable working in high-volume environments, managing crowds, and maintaining a strong professional presence.

Only applicants who can commit to the full duration of the event will be considered.

Responsibilities
• Conduct regular patrols of the event grounds to maintain visibility, deter misconduct, and identify potential safety hazards
• Monitor assigned zones including entry gates, stages, and restricted areas to ensure compliance with event policies
• Enforce access control procedures by verifying tickets, credentials, and wristbands for all guests, staff, and vendors
• Perform bag checks and screenings in accordance with event security protocols
• Manage crowd flow and prevent overcrowding in high-density areas to ensure public safety
• Respond promptly to incidents such as disturbances, intoxication, medical situations, or security breaches, escalating when required
• Coordinate with supervisors, team leads, and emergency services during critical situations
• Maintain clear and professional communication via radio at all times
• Remove unauthorized or disruptive individuals using proper de-escalation techniques
• Monitor alcohol consumption areas and enforce event policies related to intoxication and behavior
• Assist with emergency evacuations or site lockdowns following established procedures
• Maintain detailed and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and actions taken during shifts
• Provide professional customer service by assisting attendees with directions, information, and general inquiries
• Ensure all assigned posts are covered and report any gaps or issues immediately
• Uphold company standards in appearance, conduct, and professionalism throughout the event

Requirements
• Valid Alberta Security License (mandatory)
• Previous event security experience preferred
• Ability to work all 10 days without exception
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
• Physically fit and able to stand/walk for extended periods
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Reliable transportation to and from site

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in festivals, concerts, or large public events
• Crowd control and de-escalation experience
• First Aid/CPR certification (asset)
