Our client is looking for dedicated and experienced Long-Haul Truck Drivers to join their expanding fleet based in **Toronto, Ontario, CA**. This role is essential for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods across Canada and the United States. As a vital member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for operating commercial motor vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations, and maintaining the condition of your assigned truck. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (or equivalent provincial license), a clean driving record, and a strong work ethic. You will be expected to manage your hours of service effectively, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensure that cargo is secured properly. This is a physically demanding role that requires stamina, reliability, and the ability to work independently for extended periods. Key Responsibilities:
Operate semi-trailer trucks safely and efficiently over long distances. Transport goods and materials to various destinations according to schedules. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment. Ensure cargo is loaded, secured, and unloaded properly and safely. Adhere strictly to all federal, provincial, and local traffic laws and regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and delivery details. Perform minor roadside repairs when necessary and report any vehicle malfunctions promptly. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and potential delays. Maintain a clean and professional appearance and attitude. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the truck interior and exterior. Plan routes and optimize delivery schedules to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
Qualifications:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (or provincial equivalent). A minimum of 3 years of verifiable long-haul trucking experience. Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents. Proficiency in Hours of Service (HOS) regulations. Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screening. Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs). Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures. Excellent spatial awareness and driving skills. Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Good communication and customer service skills. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
