Job Description
Square One Shopping Centre - Retail Security Guards

Position: Full Time Security Guards

Site: Square One Shopping Centre

City: Mississauga, Ontario

Pay Rate: $21.52/hr (3 month probationary rate), $23.32/hr after probation and up to $23.75 per hour.

Role and Responsibilities:
β€’ Completion of daily report and incident Reports in a timely manner.
β€’ Completion of projects as assigned by the Security Leadership Team
β€’ Responsible for assisting the Security Shift Supervisors with activities undertaken on each shift to ensure that security operations occur consistent with policy, Standing Orders, and the rule of law
β€’ Observing, investigating, and acting on possible breaches of security, fire and safety hazards, illegal entry, theft and malfunction or interruption of utilities through the radio, phone, and computer systems
β€’ Full knowledge of 494, Trespass to Property, and Oxford Customer Service Excellence
β€’ Experience with enforcing TPA and situations where Use of Force is required.
β€’ Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, in a fair and safe manner, by enforcing the Trespass to Property Act.
β€’ Completing paperwork and writing reports
β€’ Responsible for coaching and counselling guards. Ensuring guards are trained on important procedures (fire panel, power-outage, bomb threat, etc)
β€’ Provide security escort contractors and visitors as required or when requested
β€’ Review and respond to emails relating to Security or Security Supervisor
β€’ Be aware of any procedures or site changes.
β€’ Review incident reports to ensure all is up to standard.
β€’ Review and save important CCTV footage.
β€’ Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries.
β€’ Obtaining statements and collecting information for Incident Reports.
β€’ Performing Customer Service-related functions.
β€’ Be physically capable of performing the required duties.
β€’ Basic knowledge and use of integrated security systems
β€’ This role is for an existing vacancy, no upfront costs associated.

Minimum Requirements:
β€’ Valid Ontario Security License
β€’ Valid Ontario Driver’s License (G or G2 Class)
β€’ First Aid/CPR Level C
β€’ Minimum 3 years of experience in a tactical security experience.
β€’ Must be able to work 24/7 (days, afternoon, evening, overnights, weekends)
β€’ Must have education consisting of Law and Security Administration, Police Foundations, Special Investigations or Criminology.
β€’ Good computer skills (Word, Excel, emails, typing )
β€’ Excellent verbal/written communication skills
β€’ Customer Service Experience
