Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Chef / Cook specializing in Nigerian cuisine, with training provided to develop your skills further. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to lead food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen operations while showcasing the rich flavors of Nigeria. Responsibilities
• Lead the preparation and cooking of authentic Nigerian dishes, ensuring high-quality standards are met consistently
• Develop and assist with menu planning that highlights traditional flavors while incorporating innovative ideas
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, maintaining cleanliness, organization, and food safety compliance
• Train and mentor kitchen staff and dietary aides in proper food handling, cooking techniques, and safety protocols
• Manage food inventory, order supplies as needed, and control portion sizes to minimize waste
• Ensure all food service activities adhere to health regulations and safety standards
• Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional dining experiences through efficient meal preparation and presentation

Qualifications
• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within the food industry or restaurant settings
• Strong knowledge of dietary department practices and food safety regulations
• Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering services preferred
• Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
• Background in fine dining or restaurant environments is advantageous
• Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety
• Willingness to learn Nigerian cuisine; training will be provided for specific recipes and techniques
