As a Food Safety & Compliance Manager, you will use your experience in managing quick service restaurants and grocery retail stores to help train and coach others in ensuring brand standard and food quality is maintained. Your position will focus on ensuring our locations are providing a clean, safe environment while maintaining product quality and service targets.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

● Supervising and coordinating multiple quick service restaurant location(s) and grocery retail location(s) for food preparation, food safety, cleanliness, hygiene standards and pest control.

● Critical thinking and leadership in resolving problems in a diverse environment.

● Compliance with all governing agencies including Public Health, Alcohol and Gaming Commission, Smoke Free Ontario Act, Ontario Lottery and Gaming, Tim Hortons and Rabba Standards. Following up to make sure all acts/policies/standards are valid, up to date and being followed.

● Managing a team of associates including hiring, coaching and disciplining as required.

● Training staff on proper food preparation, food safety, cleanliness and hygiene standards and holding workers accountable.

● Leading by example; while leading a team to make sure the stores/restaurants are up to hygiene standards.

● Conducting food safety and compliance audits to ensure compliance with food safety, health and sanitation practices and all governing requirements.

● Investigate root cause(s) of audit discrepancies and develop actions plans. Follow up to ensure tasks are completed.

● Problem solving pest control issues while working/leading a team execute the action plan.

● Monitoring pest issues and following up

● Ensuring all stores are set up for success.

Job Requirements:

● Must have food handler certification and strong knowledge of food safety and compliance standards in accordance with Public Health.

● Previous experience in quick service restaurant management or grocery retail food safety.

● Excellent training and coaching skills with the ability to deliver constructive feedback.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

● Excellent organization and time management skills.

● Must be able to work independently and with a team.

● Strong problem solving skills.

● Strong attention to detail.

● Able to work on your feet for long periods.

Experience:

● 3 years’ experience managing chain, quick service, grocery store or fast food restaurants.

● Strong technical knowledge of food safety (preferred).

● Strong technical knowledge of Pest Control (preferred).

● Food safety auditing: 2 years (preferred).
