Job Description
Securiguard is seeking passionate and experienced individuals to join our team as Loss Prevention Security Guards. Join us in this elite role where your vigilance and dedication contribute to the overall safety and success of our retail partner.

The Day to Day:

As a Loss Prevention Security Guard at Securiguard, your role involves safeguarding the assets and minimizing losses for our retail client. You will conduct routine surveillance, employing your keen observational skills to identify and prevent theft, fraud, or other security breaches. Regularly patrolling the premises, you'll interact with customers and employees to deter potential incidents while maintaining a high level of customer service. Your role includes investigating suspicious activities, reviewing CCTV footage, and collaborating with law enforcement when necessary. Crafting detailed incident reports. Your commitment to enforcing security protocols, de-escalating conflicts, and, when needed, making lawful arrests ensures a safe and secure environment for both staff and customers.

What you contribute:
• Valid Security Guard License and First Aid/CPR
• At least 2 year of security experience in a high-profile customer focused environment such as retail/mall, loss prevention, campus, government or healthcare.
• Loss Prevention Knowledge is an asset
• Previous Use of Force training and arrest experience will be considered an asset.
• Ability to work at different sites across GTA
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare professional daily and/or incident security reports.
• Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act (TPA), Canada Criminal Code and 494(c)
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
• Ability to conduct arrests in appropriate and sanctioned situations.
• Military/Police background/Law Enforcement background is an asset.
• Strong observational skills and situational awareness
• Punctuality
• Able to stand/patrol up for up to 12 hours.

Extensive Fundamental SecurityTactical Training

Training:

Completion of Use of Force Training and Lawful Subject Restraint, and Crisis Management training are requirements for this role., and also require annual re-certification. The training is provided to new employees for this role along with Securiguard University Orientations courses for skill development.
