As a Control Room Security Guard, you will be the person spotting threats before they escalate in environments such as security operation centres, call centers, construction sites, parking lots and gatehouses, etc.

What does a Control Room Security Guard in Calgary do?
β€’ Monitor security systems, including access control, intrusion alarm, CCTV, audio communication, building automation, environmental and fire, life, alarm and safety systems
β€’ Access control - create tickets for access as requested, request vendor unlocks, badges for vendors and visitors to control access
β€’ Communicate with building occupants during emergencies and with local police, fire and emergency personnel regarding onsite emergencies
β€’ Provide clear and concise documentation of all incidents through available logs
β€’ A fundamental knowledge and preferred experience of security technology and systems such as alarm and access control systems, CCTV systems, communication technologies, and general MS software programs
β€’ Excellent computing skills to include all office related products and familiarity with specialized security applications
β€’ Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional demeanor under very stressful situations
β€’ Exceptional organizational skills, with an emphasis on multi-tasking and rapidly assessing and shifting priorities.
β€’ Patrolling is required for this position.

Qualifications to become a Control Room Security Guard in Calgary
β€’ Be authorized to work in Canada
β€’ Hold a valid Alberta security license
β€’ Must be willing to work 12 hours rotational, day and night shifts
β€’ 1 year minimum of dispatch/control room experience
β€’ Strong report writing skills
β€’ Advanced computer skills- experience with data entry and documentation. Create and edit digital records
β€’ Advanced telephone skills- engage with callers, handle routine inquires or requests
β€’ Strong proficiency with technology
β€’ Ability to stand and walk throughout shift
