We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cleaning Staff & Daycare Assistant. This dual-role position plays a key part in maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive environment for children and staff at our daycare. The successful candidate will assist in the classroom during the day and complete all cleaning tasks during the designated cleaning shift between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

Daycare Assistant Duties (During Daytime Hours):

Support classroom educators with supervision of children during play, learning, and meal times.

Assist with preparing and setting up classroom materials and activities.

Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment throughout the day.

Engage with children in a positive, respectful, and caring manner.

Support transitions (e.g., nap time, outdoor time) and routines as needed.

Maintain confidentiality and follow all centre policies and licensing regulations.

Cleaning Duties (Between 5:00 PM– 7:00 PM):

Clean and sanitise 6 classrooms daily, including floors, surfaces, furniture, and toys.

Clean classroom washrooms: toilets, sinks, counters, and garbage disposal.

Mop and maintain cleanliness of hallways and common areas.

Follow health and safety protocols, including safe handling of cleaning products.

Report any maintenance concerns or hazards to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Experience in childcare and/or cleaning is an asset.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.

Ability to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks as required.

Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening and up-to-date immunisations (required if working with children).

CPR/First Aid Certification is an asset.
