Your Opportunity:

In keeping with the Covenant Healthโ€™s Mission and Values and as an integral member of the Hospitality Services team, the Working Lead, Environmental Services (ES) will oversee and provide functional direction to their assigned team of Environmental Service Workers (including cleaning and laundry and linen services) to ensure a clean, sanitary, safe and attractive environment for residents, patients, staff, and visitors. This includes assisting fellow employees in completing day work as required. Key responsibilities include organizing workflow, schedules, and supplies ensuring efficient functioning and cost effectiveness of department, completing quality control audits and maintaining cleaning and safety standards.

The Working Lead ES must maintain the highest level of confidentiality and be respectful and compassionate in all interactions. The Working Lead ES leads and/or participates in departmental meetings and programs, trains/orientates new staff and students, and performs other duties as required.

Description:

Description: The Working Lead performs specialized or heavy duty cleaning in public, patient and office areas and uses industrial cleaning equipment to maintain all flooring surfaces which includes waxing, stripping, refinishing and burnishing. The position assists with the transport and set-up of furniture, equipment and supplies and assists in the training and orientation of new staff. The Working Lead performs these tasks in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA General Support Services Collective Agreement.

Preferred Qualifications (500 Character Limit)

Grade 12.
Knowledge of EVS equipment and chemicals.
WHMIS certificate.
