Bilingual Security Guard Rover Patrol (Full-Time)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Company: Allied Universal Employment

Type: Full-Time

Work Schedule: Thursday to Sunday

Shift Hours: 08H00-16:00

Important Note: Candidates must have continuously resided in Canada for a minimum of five (5) years.

Position Overview:

Allied Universal is seeking professional, reliable, and bilingual Security Guards to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario. This position functions in a Control Room / Controller capacity and is ideal for individuals with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

· Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident (required for reliability clearance)

· Bilingual proficiency in English and French

· Minimum of five (5) years of continuous residency in Canada

· One (1) or more years of security experience

· Previous experience as a Controller, Access Control Officer, or ID Office personnel

· Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence

· Valid First Aid Certificate

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Professional, dependable, and customer-service-oriented demeanor

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

· Monitor and control access points to ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises

· Issue, verify, and manage identification badges and access credentials

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date access control records

· Conduct routine security checks and enforce site-specific security protocols

· Communicate effectively with site management, team members, and visitors

· Promptly report security incidents, suspicious activities, and policy violations

Operational & Control Room Duties:

· Oversee the overall operations of the Guard Security Operations Center during all shifts

· Ensure security professionals perform duties in accordance with Post Orders

· Advise the shift security professional of all security-related events in a timely manner

· Compile detailed logs of all significant daily shift activities

· Review shift and incident reports prior to submission to the Site Supervisor

· Direct emergency phone calls to the appropriate response authorities

· Act as command and control during emergency situations

· Operate and monitor Security and Fire systems

· Assist with the orientation and operation of fire safety equipment

· Manage key control procedures

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor

Physical & Mental Requirements:

· Ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, and reach for extended periods

· Frequent use of hands and arms

· Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the phone

· Ability to read computer screens, correspondence, and reports in English

· Valid driver’s licence and ability to operate a vehicle

· Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

· Ability to climb stairs intermittently at client sites
