Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Long Haul Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight across long distances and will be travelling to the United States, ensuring timely and safe delivery while adhering to all transportation regulations. This role requires a commitment to safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service.

Duties
β€’ Operate commercial vehicles to transport goods over to the United States from Canada, often across state lines.
β€’ Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
β€’ Manage freight loading and unloading, utilizing forklift operation when necessary.
β€’ Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption as per regulatory requirements.
β€’ Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
β€’ Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance on the vehicle to ensure optimal performance during trips.
β€’ Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving in various weather conditions.

Qualifications
β€’ Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required and the USA Visa is required.
β€’ Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly in long-haul routes.
β€’ Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and heavy equipment operation.
β€’ Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided.
β€’ Basic automotive repair skills are a plus to handle minor vehicle issues on the road.
β€’ Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
