Sheet Metal Manufacturing company based in Hermanstad, Pretoria West have a vacancies available for Housekeeping staff.

In a manufacturing environment, a Housekeeping Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and hygiene of the production floor, warehouses, and administrative areas. Unlike residential cleaning, this role involves handling heavy machinery, industrial chemicals, and strictly following health and safety protocols like 5S principles.

Core Responsibilities
• Production Floor Maintenance: Sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors to remove industrial debris, spills, or oil that could cause hazards.
• Equipment Sanitisation: Cleaning and degreasing manufacturing machinery, production lines, and tools to prevent contamination and ensure smooth operation.
• Waste Management: Emptying industrial bins, disposing of scrap materials, and handling hazardous waste according to environmental regulations.
• Facility Upkeep: Maintaining restrooms, breakrooms, and office spaces to ensure a healthy working environment for all staff.
• Safety Compliance: Following strict Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) or local safety standards and properly using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Stock Management: Monitoring and refilling cleaning supplies, such as detergents, soaps, and paper products.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy objects (up to 20kg or more) for extended shifts.
• Chemical Knowledge: Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and the safe handling of industrial cleaning agents.
