ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN / ELECTRICIAN (PROGRAMMING & AUTOMATION)
Location: Rosslyn, Pretoria
Salary: Market Related (Negotiable Based on Experience)

Job Overview
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a qualified Electrical Technician / Electrician with experience in automation, machine control and embedded programming.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys fault-finding, developing electrical control systems and programming and writing code for Raspberry Pis or Arduino applications. The successful candidate will work on industrial automation projects involving electrical installations, control systems, PLC integration and embedded programming.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems.
• Wire, install and commission electrical control panels.
• Program and write code for Raspberry Pis or Arduino applications.
• Develop and modify software for automation and machine control systems.
• Assist with PLC integration and industrial automation projects.
• Fault-find electrical, electronic and control systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Work closely with the engineering team on new product development and continuous improvement projects.
• Test, commission and document electrical installations.
Minimum Requirements
• Qualified Electrician with a Red Seal Trade Test.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
• Experience programming Raspberry Pis or Arduino.
• Ability to write, modify and troubleshoot code.
• Knowledge of Python, C/C++ or similar programming languages.
• Experience with industrial automation, PLCs or control systems will be advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and circuit diagrams.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of automation and machine control systems.
• Able to work independently as well as within a team.
