Master Electrician / Master Installation Electrician

Position Summary

The Master Electrician is responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, testing, certification, inspection and maintenance of electrical installations in accordance with South African legislation and SANS 10142-1. The incumbent must hold a valid Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) and a Master Installation Electrician (Master Wireman's) registration issued through the Department of Employment and Labour. This role provides technical, ensures legal compliance, signs Certificates of Compliance (CoCs) where applicable, manages high-risk commercial and industrial electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Install, inspect and maintain electrical systems
• Diagnose complex electrical faults
• Read and interpret electrical drawings
• Conduct testing and commissioning
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Issue and manage Certificates of Compliance (where authorised)
• Ensure SANS 10142 compliance

Compliance
• Ensure Occupational Health and Safety Act compliance
• Perform risk assessments
• Maintain inspection records, prepare technical reports, participate in safety audits

Qualifications and Experience:
• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
• N3–N6 Electrical Engineering (advantageous)
• Qualified Electrician (Red Seal Trade Test)
• Registered Master Installation Electrician (Master Wireman's Licence)
• 8–15+ years post-trade experience
• Industrial, commercial and heavy electrical maintenance
• High-voltage and low-voltage systems
