Guesthouse - Part-Time / Casual Housekeeper

Durbanville - Cape Town

We have a housekeeping a position open for a creative, trustworthy, hardworking part-time/ casual housekeeper to join our team based in Durbanville. We're looking for someone who has an eye for detail, can work independently or well within a team, is presentable, can multitask and who can handle the day to day running of the housekeeping department and assist guests .

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

● Clean and tidy up guestrooms, common areas, office

● Dust and polish various surfaces and furniture

● Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors

● Empty trash bins in the guestrooms and office

● Change linens and towels and replace toiletries

● Provide occasional laundry services for guests

● Collaborate with the management team to complete the daily cleaning schedule

● Restock and maintain all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products; ensure safe and sanitary storage and care of products

● Report any issues that require maintenance

● Clean windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, and counters as needed

● Keep all public spaces neat and tidy

● Assist with ad hoc duties

● Assist customers and guests when needed

● Perform quality checks of rooms and common areas

● Maintaining, washing and ironing laundry and linen

REQUIREMENTS

● Minimum Grade 10

● Must be South African, or have a valid up-to-date work permit

● 1-3 years minimum working experience as a cleaner/ housekeeper

● Ability to write and read in English

● Must be presentable and punctual

● Be prepared to overtime, weekends and public holidays when required

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team

● Willing and eager to learn

● Honest, trustworthy and reliable

● Ability to work under stress

● Basic knowledge of Health & Safety rules

● Good Communication Skills

● In good health & physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, with the ability to stand for long lengths of time

● Ability to assist customers and guests when needed

● Having your own transport will be a bonus, but not essential.

● Be prepared to assist with guest meals.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
