Job Description
Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Industrial Electrician to join their growing team in Polokwane, Limpopo, ZA . In addition to performing complex electrical maintenance and installation tasks, this role will involve leading and mentoring our apprenticeship program. You will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of skilled electricians, ensuring they receive high-quality training and practical experience. This hybrid role requires a balance of hands-on work on-site and time dedicated to program development and supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial electrical systems and equipment, including high-voltage systems, motor controls, PLCs, and instrumentation. Installing and commissioning new electrical systems and equipment. Developing and updating training materials and curriculum for the industrial electrician apprenticeship program. Providing on-the-job training and mentorship to apprentices, ensuring they meet program standards and industry requirements. Conducting regular assessments of apprentice performance and providing constructive feedback. Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations, company policies, and electrical codes. Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, training progress, and safety inspections. Collaborating with management to identify training needs and improve the apprenticeship program. Staying current with advancements in electrical technology and training methodologies. Troubleshooting complex electrical faults and implementing effective solutions. Qualifications:
A recognized trade qualification as an Electrician (e.g., NQF Level 4) and a Journeyman's Certificate. A minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance and installation. Proven experience in a supervisory or training role, preferably within an apprenticeship context. Strong knowledge of PLC programming, VSDs, and industrial control systems. Excellent understanding of South African electrical regulations and safety standards. Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues. Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and deliver engaging training sessions. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
