Our client, a prominent manufacturing facility in **Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape**, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Electrician to join their maintenance and operations team. This role requires a dedicated presence at our Port Elizabeth facility. The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of industrial electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. This includes power distribution systems, control panels, motors, variable speed drives, PLCs, and other sophisticated automation components. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing electrical faults, and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical theory, schematics, blueprints, and electrical safety procedures. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding industrial environment. You will collaborate closely with other maintenance personnel, engineers, and production staff to identify and resolve electrical issues promptly. Experience with industrial automation and control systems is highly valued. A trade qualification as an Electrician (e.g., N3 Electrical Engineering, Wireman's License) is required. A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing or heavy industry setting is essential. Thorough knowledge of electrical safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and preventative maintenance techniques is mandatory. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and diagrams is required. Ability to troubleshoot and repair AC/DC motors, control circuits, and instrumentation is necessary.
