Position: WELDERS / BOILERMAKERS - ARTISANS

Responsibilities
• Welding & Fabrication Duties
• Fit components according to drawings and process quality plans.
• Lay out, position, align and secure parts and assemblies prior to welding.
• Prepare components for welding according to specifications.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic equipment in flat, vertical and overhead positions.
• Repair machinery and components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
• Equipment Operation
• Recognize, set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
• Determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Inspection & Measurement
• Record accurate component dimensions using calibrated instruments.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure to ensure conformance to specifications.
