Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Industrial Electrician to join their installation and maintenance team in Polokwane, Limpopo. This role is essential for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation, with a commitment to adhering to strict safety standards and regulations. This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to resolve electrical issues promptly.

You will be responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing electrical machinery, equipment, and systems. This includes diagnosing faults in control circuits, power distribution systems, and instrumentation, and implementing effective repair solutions. The Industrial Electrician will play a key role in preventative maintenance programs, ensuring the reliability of electrical infrastructure and minimizing downtime. You will also be involved in new equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades, ensuring all work is performed to code and specifications. Strong diagnostic skills and a thorough understanding of electrical principles are crucial for success in this role. Regular site-based work in Polokwane, Limpopo is required.

Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment in industrial settings. Diagnose electrical problems using test equipment and troubleshoot faults in power, control, and lighting systems. Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Ensure all electrical work complies with national and local electrical codes and safety regulations. Install and maintain control panels, motors, transformers, and other electrical components. Respond to electrical emergencies and perform repairs promptly. Assist with the commissioning of new electrical installations and equipment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used. Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and production staff to ensure operational efficiency. Promote a safe working environment and adhere to all safety procedures.
Qualifications:
A relevant trade qualification or certification as an Industrial Electrician. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as an industrial electrician. Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems. Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety practices. Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, insulation testers). Ability to read and understand complex electrical drawings and schematics. Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
