BOILERMAKER – CRUSHING & SCREENING MAINTENANCE

An EME based in Pretoria East, Waltloo is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join its team.

Minimum Requirements
β€’ Recognised Boilermaker Trade Certificate.
β€’ Minimum 10 years' post-trade experience in heavy mining, processing, crushing, and screening plant maintenance.
β€’ Proven experience in:
β€’ Structural steel fabrication, installation, repair, and maintenance.
β€’ Maintenance and refurbishment of vibratory screens.
β€’ Fabrication and repair of crusher components and supporting structures.
β€’ Relining and maintenance support for 7ft, 84-inch Allis Chalmers, and TC84XR Weir Minerals cone crushers.
β€’ Fabrication, modification, and repair of crusher chutes, hoppers, liners, platforms, and structural components.
β€’ Replacement and installation of wear plates, liners, screens, and associated steelwork.
β€’ Welding and fabrication on heavy-duty mining equipment.
β€’ Shutdown maintenance and breakdown repairs in crushing and screening plants.
β€’ Working from engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and site measurements.
β€’ Use of oxy-acetylene, plasma cutting, arc welding, and other fabrication equipment.

Competencies
β€’ Sound knowledge of boilermaking, welding, structural fabrication, wear protection, crusher and vibratory screen maintenance, and heavy mining equipment.
β€’ Experience with fabrication and installation of crusher liners, screen components, chutes, hoppers, guards, platforms, handrails, and structural steelwork.
β€’ Thorough understanding of Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) requirements, permit-to-work systems, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, risk assessments, and safe work practices.
β€’ Ability to work safely and efficiently during planned maintenance shutdowns and breakdowns.
β€’ Ability to interpret engineering and fabrication drawings and perform accurate measurements and fit-ups.
β€’ Knowledge of welding procedures, weld preparation, joint fit-up, and visual inspection of welds.
β€’ Ability to work effectively with mechanical fitters, welders, supervisors, and other maintenance personnel.
β€’ Excellent teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
β€’ Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
