Job Description
JOB FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY: DRIVER & STOREMAN
• JOB SUMMARY AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1.1 The Driver & Storeman will be responsible for deliveries, as well as the physical handling of stock, inventory control and assisting with the application of proper storekeeping management methods. This function includes but is not limited to:

1.1.1 Receiving stock.

1.1.2 Packing of stock in a correct and safe manner.

1.1.3 Ensuring that the warehouse is kept clean and tidy at all times.

1.1.4 Assisting customers with loading orders.

1.1.5 Deliveries to customers. Effective and expedient deliveries using the most efficient routes, ensuring proper time keeping and adhering to all road rules and regulations.

1.1.6 Loading and offloading stock.

1.1.7 Ensuring that stock being dispatched to customers is correct according to delivery notes.

1.1.8 Ensuring that delivery notes are signed correctly by customers and that copies thereof are returned and submitted to the administration department.

1.1.9 Collection of orders from local suppliers. Effective and expedient collections using the most efficient routes, ensuring proper time keeping and adhering to all road rules and regulations.

1.1.10 General maintenance of the vehicle (i.e. fill fuel tank of vehicle, maintain the correct tyre pressure, keeping the vehicle clean and tidy, and washing the vehicle).

1.1.11 Indicating to the Office Coordinator when the vehicle is due for a service and/or repair.

1.1.12 Handling of all relevant paperwork and submitting same to the administration department (i.e. petrol slips, toll fees slips etc.).

1.1.13 Assisting with stock take.

1.1.14 Attending to any other related tasks on an ad hoc basis.

Cape Town, Brackenfell office, and any such other locations or destinations as determined by the Employer from time to time.
• REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
3.1 Reports to: Office Coordinator, Cape Town and Inventory & Warehouse Controller.

3.2 Manages: None.

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
6.1 Valid driver’s license (minimum EB).

6.2 Valid PDP permit, preferred.

6.3 Must have own vehicle.

6.4 Valid forklift operator’s license (the company will assist in obtaining first license, employee then to ensure it is kept valid at all times).

6.5 Educational level: High school (Matric Certificate) and/or any other relevant qualification.

6.6 Store or warehouse experience.

6.7 Knowledge of storekeeping practices and procedures.
