Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Industrial Electrician to join their dynamic team in **Polokwane, Limpopo**. This role is essential for maintaining and troubleshooting complex electrical systems within industrial and manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of electrical principles, safety protocols, and modern industrial equipment. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of a wide range of electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, motors, generators, and lighting. This includes working with high and low voltage equipment, interpreting complex blueprints and technical diagrams, and ensuring all work complies with national electrical codes and safety standards. Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing downtime and ensuring the efficient operation of plant machinery and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment. Diagnose electrical issues and malfunctions, implementing effective repair solutions. Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to perform installations and repairs. Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Test electrical equipment and systems to ensure proper functionality and safety. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical problems in a timely and efficient manner. Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, codes, and company policies, including lockout/tagout procedures. Work with a variety of electrical tools and equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and insulation testers. Assist in the planning and execution of electrical upgrades and new installations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior electricians. Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes and industry standards. Qualifications:
Trade Qualification as an Electrician (e.g., Red Seal Certificate) and relevant industry certifications. Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician, with a proven track record in troubleshooting and repair. Extensive knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, and VFDs. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation. Strong understanding of electrical safety principles and regulations, including OSHA or equivalent local standards. Experience with high-voltage systems and equipment is a significant advantage. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving skills. Good physical condition and ability to work in various industrial environments, including confined spaces and at heights. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different sites if required.
