Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

Location: Bellville, Cape Town

A leading manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician with strong experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding and repair to join their team in the Plastic Moulding department. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and methodical electrician to ensure uninterrupted operations by performing building and electrical reticulation maintenance.

Responsibilities:
β€’ Limit operational downtime in all departments by performing effective and quick electrical reticulation and services/utilities fault finding and repair.
β€’ Conduct ongoing inspections to identify faults in a timely manner.
β€’ Complete assigned or identified maintenance tasks.
β€’ Thoroughly complete job cards and ensure assigned scheduled maintenance is completed.
β€’ Propose and action improvements to reduce the need for corrective maintenance and suggest improvements for scheduled maintenance.
β€’ Assist in new equipment installations and modifications, specifically with regard to electrical and service supply.
β€’ Liaise with store man and supervisor to improve maintenance spares stock keeping.
β€’ Perform and report on assigned housekeeping checks, ensuring proper housekeeping is maintained in the work area.
β€’ Adhere to works, safety procedures, and safety legislation, and maintain safe working disciplines.
β€’ Assist in developing and improving procedures in your area of work.
β€’ Coach and inspect the work of less experienced maintenance personnel.
β€’ Be approachable to colleagues and subordinates, giving advice and being proactive about the need for relevant information and training.

Requirements:
β€’ Matric and a Trade tested N3 electrician with a wireman’s license.
β€’ At least 3 years of working experience in a building maintenance or service/utilities environment, with a focus on electrical maintenance and distribution.
β€’ Well-developed problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills.
β€’ A team player with good communication skills.
β€’ Working knowledge of plant safety procedures.
β€’ An improvement mentality and a continuous improvement culture.
β€’ Ability to work with limited supervision.
β€’ Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
β€’ Good timekeeping.
