Job Description
Truck Driver (Code 14) Cold Chain Logistics

Location: Cape Town
Employment Type: Permanent (6-month probation)
Job Purpose

To ensure the safe, hygienic, and timely transportation of temperature-sensitive products while maintaining strict cold-chain integrity.
Key Responsibilities
• Safely operate Code 14 vehicles (local and long-distance routes)
• Monitor and control refrigerated trailer temperatures during transit
• Assist with or supervise loading and offloading of goods
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (vehicle + refrigeration units)
• Ensure compliance with:
• Road Traffic Act
• OHSA regulations
• Company safety standards
• Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery notes, and temperature records
• Plan efficient routes considering traffic, deadlines, and rest periods
• Handle returns and non-conforming goods
• Report delays or issues to management immediately
Requirements
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
• Knowledge of Cape Town routes and surrounding areas
• Own reliable transport
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and shifts when required
Qualifications
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Valid Code 14 Driver's License
• Valid PDP
Experience
• 3 5 years driving heavy-duty trucks
• Experience with Fuller gearbox (e.g. superlinks/interlinks)
• Experience with refrigerated/cold storage transport
Hours
• Monday Friday: 08h00 17h30
