Maintenance and minor repairs may be required, so a practical understanding of truck mechanics is a significant advantage. You will be responsible for securing cargo, verifying shipping documents, and maintaining accurate logs of your journey, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any delivery or pickup discrepancies. Effective communication with dispatch, clients, and other stakeholders is essential. This role demands a high level of responsibility, stamina, and professionalism, as you will be the face of our client on the road. Extensive knowledge of South African road networks, traffic laws, and best practices for long-haul driving is required.
