Picup, our system integration partner that specialises in last-mile delivery and online management software seeks a Driver Recruiter: Paarden Eiland, Cape Town.

Job description

Responsibility:
• Driver Recruitment
• Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for drivers, including job postings, candidate sourcing and vetting
• Proactively source candidates through various channels such as social media, our elastic network and referrals.
• Build and maintain a strong network of qualified candidates to fill current and future driver requirements
• Collaborate with in-field supervisors, zone planners, and operation teams to understand specific driver needs based on client requirements, upcoming initiatives, and seasonal demands.
• Candidate Screening
• Assess and screen candidates’ prior delivery experience, skills, and suitability to ensure they meet the company’s standards.
• Ensure candidates meet all necessary licensing requirements before moving forward with onboarding.
• Provide recommendations on candidates' suitability to Training Centres
• Onboarding
• Coordinate with the training centres,to ensure smooth onboarding for new drivers
• Relationship Building
• Foster a positive and professional relationship with candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing a seamless experience from application to onboarding.
• Engage with current drivers to gather referrals and ensure that the recruitment requirements are communicated externally.
• Reporting
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of driver applicants.
• Provide regular reports to management on recruitment progress, including the number of drivers recruited, time taken to fill requirements, and candidate quality.
• Recruitment Strategy Development
• Identify opportunities to improve the recruitment process and suggest ways to attract suitable candidates.
• Stay updated on competitor hiring practices to keep the company’s recruitment strategy competitive.
• Establish a driver pipeline to support continuity as a result of churn and the scale.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Proven experience as a recruiter, or in a similar role
• Experience in recruiting drivers or in the is highly desirable
