Job Description
GENERAL PURPOSE

To ensure that the plumbing requirements of all South Point Buildings are met as set and defined by the South Point standard. Under general supervision, maintain the flow and drainage of water, air, and other gases by assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures districtwide. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all plumbing systems in district facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Transport equipment/material/personnel to and from specific locations.
• Repair leaking pipes and unblock sewer lines;
• Unblock toilets and basins;
• Need to cost the material required to execute a job
• Needs to have an understanding of what parts/material are required to execute the job at hand;
• Installation of bath, basin, toilet, urinal and geyser;
• Changing of tap washers;
• Will need to care for the tools issued to him/her
• Including power tools issued on sign out;
• Reporting any faulty equipment or hazards in the work place;
• Minimizing wastage of material;
• Accurate completion of all job cards within the expected turnaround time;
• He/she will be required to work overtime in case of emergencies;
• Will do week-end duty by rotation;
• Will need to work the extended hours between November-February to prepare vacate and new academic intake;
• Will be required to complete work to the South Point standard;
• Any ad hoc tasks and responsibilities assigned to him/her by management.

EDUCATION
• Trade Test Certificate

EXPERIENCE
• 2 to 3 years Plumbing experience
• Special Knowledge/Skills:
• Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
• Knowledge of plumbing codes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
• Ability to use hand and power tools
