Job Description
Key Accountabilities/ Principal Responsibilities

Primary Duties

Perform semi-skilled technical assistance to electrician in designated area:
• Provide support with planned maintenance
• Provide support with fault finding
• Provide support with installations
• Laying cables in trenches, ducts and racks, including the securing of such cables
• Cleaning of machinery
• Greasing and oiling machinery
• Assist with moving objects and equipment
• Changing wheels on equipment
• Assist in keeping the workshop tidy and presentable at all times
• Carry out reasonable semi-skilled labour requests as required in designated area
• Ensure that all tools used are well maintained, and the correct tools are used for the relevant trade
• Adhere to AFMS Policies, Protocols and Procedures
• Ensure compliance to Occupational Health and Safety Act

It should be noted that, for operational reasons, it may be necessary to perform tasks other than those described herein from time to time.

Prescribed procedures may be amended by management as and when required

Key Skills and Experience
• Grade 12
• Min 5-year relevant experience in a built environment, with at least 3-year experience performing minor electrical maintenance and repairs at a semi-skilled level
• Knowledge and good understanding of applicable Health & Safety regulations and procedures
• Willing and flexible to work extended hours and/or outside of normal working hours where required
• Knowledge of tools and material used in assigned area of responsibility
