Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Housekeeper to strengthen our energy operations in Polokwane by supporting efficient generation, transmission, or distribution activities. This role involves working with established technologies while exploring innovative approaches to meeting the growing demand for clean and reliable energy.
Responsibilities
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses when operational disruptions occur to identify lessons learned and prevent recurrence of similar events.
• Assist with the management of energy trading and balancing activities by monitoring market conditions and supporting decisions that optimise revenue from generation assets.
• Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to implement process improvements that enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact of operations.
• Maintain accurate records of all operational activities including production logs, maintenance schedules, and regulatory compliance documentation as required.
• Support the development of renewable energy projects by contributing to feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical evaluation of proposed installations.
• Stay informed about developments in energy technology and policy that may affect current operations or create new opportunities for business development and growth.
• Monitor energy generation and distribution systems to ensure reliable operation and identify any deviations from expected performance parameters for investigation.
• Conduct analysis of energy production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improving output and reducing operational costs across facilities.
• Ensure compliance with energy sector regulations including environmental permits, grid connection requirements, and health and safety legislation applicable to operations.
• Prepare technical reports on energy system performance, project progress, and environmental metrics for internal review and external stakeholder communication.

• Understanding of energy systems including generation technologies, transmission infrastructure, and the principles of electricity market operation and regulation.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams including engineers, technicians, commercial specialists, and external contractors and consultants.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to diagnosing operational issues and developing practical solutions that address root causes.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to the energy sector including safe systems of work for operational and maintenance activities.

Qualifications
- Master's degree in Renewable Energy, Sustainable Energy Systems, or Energy Management with coursework covering both technical and policy aspects of energy.

- Relevant industrial experience of at least two years in the energy sector including exposure to generation, transmission, distribution, or energy trading operations.

- Professional certification in Energy Management or a related field demonstrating competence in energy auditing, efficiency assessment, and management practices.

- Bachelor's degree in Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline.

- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems with practical experience in the operation or maintenance of energy generation or distribution assets.
