Security Officer – Second Shift Full Time

Philadelphia, PA | Full-Time
Pay: $16.00/hour

Important: While this posting includes lighthearted references to local wildlife, this is a real job advertisement for an actual open position with KRE Security, LLC.

KRE Security, LLC is hiring a Full-Time Security Officer for a consistent Monday through Friday Second Shift (2:00PM-10:00PM). This is a permanent, non-rotating schedule — ideal for dependable individuals seeking stable second shift hours.

While the site is professional and well-managed, officers must remain alert for all forms of “gang activity.” Around here, that sometimes includes organized groups of deer assembling after dark, traveling in coordinated units, and appearing in suspiciously matching earth-toned colors.

They gather.
They watch.
They move as one.

Coincidence? Probably.
Professional vigilance? Absolutely.

Schedule

Monday - Friday | 2:00PM-10:00PM
Consistent. Reliable. No rotating shifts.
(Unlike certain four-legged groups who seem to rotate lookouts.)

What You’ll Be Doing
• Provide a professional security presence at the assigned client site
• Patrol premises and monitor access points
• Stay alert for any suspicious activity — including organized “herd meetings” near fence lines
• Observe and report safety or security concerns
• Respond to emergencies and enforce site policies and procedures
• Complete accurate incident and daily activity reports using Belfry Software
• Example: “Group of approximately six deer congregating near Gate 3. Dispersed upon approach. Possible coordinated grazing.”
• Maintain communication with clients, supervisors, and fellow officers
• Follow all company and site-specific security protocols

Officers should be comfortable identifying:
• Coordinated loitering
• Strategic shrubbery surveillance
• Sudden synchronized fleeing
• Intense, unbroken eye contact intended to test authority

The Environment

The property is occasionally visited by:
• Deer (often operating in what appears to be structured formations)
• Foxes (independent contractors)
• Raccoons (night shift specialists)
• Possums (masters of defensive theatrics)

You must be able to remain calm, alert, and professional — even when outnumbered by extremely polite but highly organized wildlife.

Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills
• Professional appearance and dependable work ethic
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions
• Comfortable with wildlife that may inhabit the property
• Flexible availability for extended shifts if client needs require
• Security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred but not required
• Must pass a mandatory background check

Bonus qualities:
• Ability to detect suspicious tail flicks
• Confidence during “gang dispersal” operations (also known as walking toward them firmly)
• Resisting the urge to assign nicknames to repeat offenders

Compensation & Benefits
• Starting Pay: $16.00/hour
• Overtime paid for hours worked over 40 per week, in accordance with applicable law
• Military veterans and active-duty service members receive an additional $0.25/hour
• Full Time
• Paid Time Off: 24 hours earned after successful completion of probationary period
• Health Benefits: Available to full-time employees (30+ hours/week) after 6 months of regular employment

Why Work for KRE Security?
• Consistent weekend overnight schedule
• Paid training provided
• Opportunities for advancement based on performance
• Supportive team environment with clear expectations
• Professional, established company serving clients throughout Pennsylvania
• A story you’ll tell forever: “I disrupted a highly organized 2:00AM deer summit.”
