Job Description

Position Title: Security Location:

General Purpose: In a few brief sentences summarize the primary duties and responsibilities.

Monitors and secures entire program premises, staff and participants. Reports all incidents on the premises to management.

Essential Functions: Describe the intrinsic job duties that define the core responsibilities of the job.

· Protects and secures program premises

· Monitors participants and staff activities on daily basis

· Defuse difficult situations between staff and or participants as needed

· Document incidents regarding staff and participant conflicts on premises

· Monitor area where participants await police/paramedics arrival

· Assigned Fire Guard: if fire is on premises make sure all clients/staff are safely removed from the premises

· Maintain and ensure HIPAA confidentiality of records (daily)

· Keeps immediate supervisor well-informed of activities, efforts/results and identify potential problems; recommends corrective actions to immediate supervisor

· Respects confidentiality in discussing organizational/program, participant, staff and volunteer matters

· Assists in other duties as needed and directed by management

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements: Describe the skills, knowledge and abilities required. Include minimum educational and experience requirements and preferences.

· High School Diploma or GED preferred

· Computer Skills: Microsoft Word preferred

· Strong team player, flexible, energetic

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Ability to defuse difficult situations and mediate situations for positive resolution/outcome

· Fire Guard certificate.

Scope of Responsibility & Positions Supervised: Where applicable describes level of authority, decision making discretion, consequences of actions, supervisory and fiscal responsibility. Provide metrics where possible. Level of supervision received.

Directs staff in order to avoid harmful situations. Must intuitively monitor premises and use good judgment to defuse conflict or tense situations. Should recognize potentially dangerous situations and be able to divert attention from such situations. Must have knowledge of office layout and be ready to respond to potentially dangerous situations.
