Job Description
Position Summary:

Under general supervision, operate company trucks to deliver our products to customers.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title:
• Operate company trucks on public roads to transport, load and unload material to EMS customers
• Operate vehicle in compliance with all local, state, federal and company rules and in accordance with generally accepted practices of safe driving
• Complete a driver's logbook and vehicle inspection report according to DOT regulations
• Inspect vehicle and required equipment to determine safe operating conditions prior to departure
• Review shipping papers for nature of load and special handling requirements if any
• Check load to determine if it's properly secured and safe
• Backup truck to loading platform; turn narrow corners; negotiate narrow passageways; keep truck and trailer under control particularly on wet or icy highways
• Wear safety equipment when handling material
• Safely load and unload cargo as required
• Maintain the truck in a clean and safe manner
• Keep tarp clean, neat, folded, and secured on trailer
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Qualifications:
• Class "A" CDL driver's license
• Preferably 3 years of experience driving a 53ft tractor trailer
• No more than one major traffic violation within the past 5 years
• Lift and carry heavy material up to 75 lbs.; climb on and off a flatbed trailer
