Position Description

Title:Packer

Department:Operations

ImmediateSupervisor:Plant Supervisory Staff

Status:Hourly

Position Purpose: Packs boxes and prepares product for shipment

Principle Accountabilities
• Removes finished products from the machine, places product labels, packs item in bags and cartons, and places finished product in proper location as per specifications.
• Performs advanced quality checks, and effectively communicates with operator and supervisor to ensure that finished products are made to required quality specifications.
• Aids in the proper and effective operation of the machinery.
• Willing to assist in other areas of the plant, including to cover lunches and breaks as required.
• Performs all work in a safety first mentality and with utilization of IPS lean manufacturing skills.
• Related tasks as requested by supervisor

Essential Skills and Experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time required
• Ability to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
