Job Summary

Mechanics should have experience in troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all mechanical portions of the BHS and PBB. Mechanic must be able to work autonomously or with a work crew and know how to proficiently replace any mechanical device, structural portion or support involved with the efficient, safe operation of the BHS & PBB. Mechanics should be familiar with 3-phase 480v connections; however, they will only be responsible to work with voltages below 120v. Mechanics must be able to understand and work on single phase 110v and lesser voltage connections under the oversight and approval of the lead Mechanic. Seeking Welding Mechanic with Certification.

Hrly Rate: $35hr certified welder

Responsibilities
• Maintain superior customer service and safe working practice at ALL times.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, SICK ATR systems, baggage handling equipment and conveyor systems in accordance with diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals and manufacturer’s specifications using hand tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Inspect diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
• Communicate with various parties on the work performed and present status of specialty systems.
• Analyze root causes of Electrical failures and propose remedy and resolution as well as continuous monitoring for ways to improve and optimize the system.
• Interpret schematics and engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system(s).
• React to call outs from the Control Room Operator or manager executing service calls CM, PM and EM.
• Preventive Maintenance – Inspection, adjustment, cleaning, replacement and prepare follow-up CM work orders if needed.

Minimum Requirements
• HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule for a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends, and/or holidays
• Background check and drug screen required
• Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge
• Experience in an industrial environment or minimum 1 year experience as maintenance mechanic.
• Proven experience as a Welder with relevant work experience

Preferred Skills
• Strong electrical trouble shooting, conveyor and control system
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment, system software (Siemens, Allen Bradley PLC Systems and WPS etc.)
• Experience in working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and electromechanical devices up to 480 volts such as motors, DC Clutches, Switches, Panels and controls, etc. DC Drives knowledge a plus and Welding techniques (Fillet Weld, Butt Weld, Weld Joints, Weld Types, Weld Edges, Welding Groove, Stringer and weaving beads, torch angle, forehand and backhand).
• Experience in repair of special purpose equipment using Machines - Semi- Automatic, Automatic or Manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
• Experience working on (PBB) Jet Bridges

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
• Employees work in the assured management areas of baggage, at repair stations, in and around jetbridges, or at airfields and often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.
• Employees will be working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, jetbridge, mechanical parts, and vibration.
• Employees may be exposed to various noise levels due to aircraft engines and equipment.
• Employees bend, lean, and frequently reach ladders and scaffolding.
• Employees are required to regularly speak and hear.
• Employees are often required to reach with their hands and arms.
• Employees may be required to perform a variety of activities that could include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing throughout their day.
• Employees frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds with the help of teammates.
• Employees will lift parts and tools for long periods of time and handle equipment such as transportation systems.
