Position Summary:  The Lead Packer is a key role responsible for leading and coordinating packing operations to ensure efficient and accurate packaging of food products. They will oversee a team of packers, provide training, and ensure adherence to quality control standards and safety protocols. The Lead Packer will also collaborate with other departments, monitor inventory levels, and maintain a clean and organized packing area, contributing to the smooth and timely distribution of food products to customers.

What you’ll do:
• Pack, weigh and label completed items for shipment or storage
• Follow all company guidelines regarding packaging to ensure items arrive at their destination
• Identify and dispose of defective items before they are shipped to customers
• Properly use packaging materials, including hand tools, glues, nails, padding, etc.
• Keep complete records of all materials that go through the warehouse
• Lead and supervise a team of packers to ensure efficient and accurate packaging of food products according to established guidelines and standards.
• Train and onboard new packers, providing guidance on packing techniques, safety procedures, and quality control measures.
• Monitor packing operations, including inventory levels, packaging materials, and equipment, to maintain adequate supply and prevent disruptions.
• Maintain a clean and organized packing area, following sanitation protocols and food safety regulations, to uphold product quality and safety standards.


About you:
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Proven work experience as a Packer or similar role
• Experience in manufacturing or related field is preferred
• Basic shop skills, such as using hand tools
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members
