Job Description
Job Title: MIG Welder

Pay: $20-23 hr

Shift: 1st

Job Description

Responsible for laying out and welding structural steel to build metal structures.

Responsibilities
β€’ Weld and cut black carbon and galvanized steel while interpreting blueprints.
β€’ Operate hand tools, grinders, and basic shop machinery.
β€’ Ensure products are manufactured according to print specifications.
β€’ Maintain a neat and clean work area in compliance with 6S leadership standards.
β€’ Adhere to and comply with all company safety requirements.
β€’ Read and understand schematics and blueprints.
β€’ Proficiently read basic blueprints and weld symbols.
β€’ Measure using a tape measure accurately.
β€’ Perform basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
β€’ Operate vehicles, mechanical devices, or equipment.
β€’ Pass 3g/4g test in MIG welding, focusing on vertical/uphill welds and column welds.
β€’ Train new welders.

Essential Skills
β€’ Proficiency in flux-core welding and MIG welding.
β€’ Strong background in TIG welding is a plus.
β€’ Ability to read blueprints and tape measures.
β€’ Minimum of 4 years of recent welding experience.
β€’ Must be able to lift 50 lbs without restrictions.
β€’ Proficiency in English language for reading, writing, and speaking.
β€’ Computer proficiency in a Windows environment for basic navigation tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
β€’ High school diploma or GED required.
β€’ A two-year welding certification is advantageous but not mandatory.

Work Environment

Work in a non-climate controlled atmosphere alongside 80 other employees. The shift is 1st shift from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
