Job Description
Note: Shift: 1st shift 6:00am - 2:30pm (1) 30-minute unpaid lunch

Additional Skills: Capable of reading a tape measure

Job Description: Environment: Non-climate controlled, can get very hot (not air-conditioned).

Must haves:
• 6-8 months recent machinery, band saws, automatic welding machines.
• Ability to use and understand tape measures. Use of Gauges for quality checks
• 6-8 months experience in mechanical background

Responsibilities:
• Move loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard.
• Assemble pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintain organized work supplies.
• Follow safety precautions for fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe.
• Operate powered industrial equipment per OSHA guidelines and Ferguson procedures.
• Set up and maintain machines for pipe fabrication.
• Measure, record, and add random pipe lengths accurately.
• Measure and cut pipe using band saws or torches.
• Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines.
• Inspect and maintain forklift equipment.

Qualifications:
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong math skills for calculating product quantities.
• Knowledge of safe work practices in the pipe yard.
• Experience with machinery for cutting and threading pipe (training provided).
• Results-focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of reading a tape measure accurately.
• Good computer skills for automated machinery.
• 6-8 months recent experience with machinery such as pipe threaders, band saws, roll groove machines, plasma cutting, automatic welding machines, and pneumatic banders.
• Ability to sort/shift pipe ranging from ½” to 10”.
• Preferred experience in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication (6-8 months).

Additional Considerations:

Candidates with backgrounds in auto mechanics, machinery maintenance, automotive lines, diesel, or farm equipment are encouraged to apply.
